C&O 1604 was originally on display at the Virginia Museum of transportation at there former location at the Wasena Park next to class A 1218 of the N&W. She was relocated to Maryland after the flood of 85 nearly destroyed her and the museum. After she recieved some cosmetic restoration she was later donated to the B&O RR museum

Plans are to restore this engine cosmetically and continue its display in the car shop.

Currently on display in the north car shop after many years of outside display.

able to handle 5,750 ton trains between Clifton Forge, Virginia & Hinton, West Virginia w/o helpers, they had a total weight of 1,098,540 lbs. carrying 25 tons of fuel and 25,000 gallons of water.
