Here is a story published in the Wakefield [Massachusetts] Daily Item on February 26, 1959. It tells of the arrival of No. 6 from Louisiana on its way to being exhibited in the Engine City area of Pleasure Island, a theme park that opened that year. http://friendsofpleasureisland.org/years/news-stories/1959-02-06-item.gif

This Locomotive was brought to Fennimore, WI as a "stand in" for the
steam engine that used to run on the Narrow Gauge Chicago & North Western line between Fennimore and Woodman.  The original engine, No. 279, was affectionately known as the "Dinky" by locals, in reference to it (and the line's) small stature.  The original Dinky now resides in the high deserts of Pioche, Nevada, where it stands on display.

This engine received a cosmetic restoration in the late 1990s. It used to look a lot worse than this.Nearly all of the cab appliances are gone.
