One of the first locos to be painted red in 1956. Withdrawn in 1966. Now displayed in the small town of Perth next to the Launceston to Hobart main road & near the road crossing for the main railway line. The tender has not survived. But many tenders found other uses on the railways after the locos were withdrawn.

This park is one of many Australia's tourist rest stops. They nearly always have parking, toilets, showers, electric barbecue oven, seating and playground, all provided free. So mobile homes etc touring Australia can safely park, clean up, cook and let the children play. Often run by local groups, Lion, Apex, Rotary clubs. So even if steam locomotives look out of place or neglected they are there to entertain and show off local history. Plus when money & volunteers are available they are spruced up. Unfortunately vandals require fencing erected at some places. But also fenced I believe if it still has asbestos lagging.
