T199 was first in service in 1912. Withdrawn in 1970. In 1973 was displayed in a park in Peterborough. 1980s moved to Peterborough rail centre. Was never considered for full restoration as too many working WAGR class W were available. Has been cosmetically restored, plus I believe with a air supply so whistle will work. Peterborough Heritage Steam Rail Centre. Opened in 2009. The museum is on the site of the railway workshops. With a good collection of original buildings. The centre piece is the roundhouse, where most locos & rolling stock are displayed. Plus the unique turntable, which has track for 3 different gauges. Radiating from Peterborough were narrow & broad gauge railway lines. Then the Broken Hill to Port Pirie was converted to standard gauge. There a continuous 90 minute tour everyday. You just join the tour and leave when it back to where you started. The entrance building, an old diesel maintenance shed. Has various railway exhibits, which include loco T199.
