Originally built as a Y class loco. In service in 1892, rebuilt with large boiler in 1923 becoming a Yx class loco. Withdrawn in 1963. Displayed at a park in Port Lincoln. 1983 moved to Quorn, Pichi Richi Railway. After years in storage the railway workshops dismantled the loco and started rebuilding. In 2012 the first steam test revealed a cracked cylinder casing. Work has slowed down until new cylinders can be manufactured.

When Yx141 worked at Port Lincoln, it was on an isolated 400 route mile narrow gauge railway called the Eyre Peninsula Railway, a part of South Australia Railways. That was only built from 1905 mainly to take produce to the sea. A ferry took passengers to and from Adelaide connecting with trains at Port Lincoln. The railway no longer carries passengers but trains still haul gypsum & grain. The station building at Port Lincoln is a museum. No steam locomotives but a plenty of exhibits, photos & films showing how labour intensive railways & freight handling was. Also an outbuilding which houses a large collection of railway operating equipment.

Fully restored but failed on testing (cracked RHS cylinder). Projected return to service during 2014 after new cylinders fitted.
