F251 is one of a class of 43 locomotives introduced 1902. They took over the suburban passenger trains and ran these for 50 years. The introduction of diesel railcars (locally called Redhen's) from 1951 took these duties away. A few became shunters at railway sheds & works. All withdrawn by 1968.
