903 is now on display in the lobby of the Hanson Technology Center at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, MI. Future plans include using the locomotive as a part of the Fab Lab program at LMC, and eventually getting it back to operation.

In September of 2004, Merlin Hanson of the Hanson Foundation purchase HD-903 from the House of David. A group of volunteers from Southwestern Lower Michigan put their interest and skills together to rebuild and restore the 903 back to her pride and joy condition as when she pulled riders around the grounds of the House. Us volunteers enjoyed every minute restoring her. It took us 3 years and the Hanson Foundation to bring her back to a beautiful working machine.

From what I understand the House of David is no longer running, therefore the trains are being stored.  However one of the engines ( House of David No. 901-2-6-2) and several of the cars has been purchased and re-done by the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation in Findlay, Ohio.  This train is completely re-built and is up and running and great to ride.  I myself rode the train as a child (probably the last time being in 1977?) and I have since rode the one that was re-built in Ohio.  It brings back many memories of riding the train from one side to the other and back.  Please feel free to contact me in regards to the operational House of David train.  I live in Findlay and my mother is part of the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation group that has done the work on the train.

Haven't seen these since 1972, awesome. I guess the new generation of folks really do not want to much to do with the general public at the House of David.
