Used as a boiler supply prior to preservation. Purchased by Ian Welch 1992, restoration begun then sidelined in favour of overhaul of KA 942. Restoration continues in limited capacity. At Wellington Depot. Photo taken December 2010 - confusingly the streamlining from KA 942 has been rested in the front of K 911s boiler

Built as a coal burner, later converted to oil-burning. Had mechanical problems after last overhaul at Hutt workshops, and was withdrawn & used as a stationary boiler with K's 917 & 921 fueled by gas until 1992 at Hutt Workshops. Now at Plimmerton, under restoration. Will appear with K-style funnel but Ka-style positioning of headlight.
