A62 is now located in a private museum at Maungatapere, near Whangarei, Northland. It has been partially restored; owner of museum claims that all mechanical parts are in operable condition, the only obstacle to running this loco is repairs required on the boiler. I viewed this loco in mid-2009 and it appears to be in good condition, stored inside a shed.
