British Railways 4-6-0 No. 7927 'Willington Hall'
Didcot, Oxfordshire, UK
Location: Didcot Railway Centre
Status: Dismantled for parts (see 6880 'Betton Grange')

The dismantling proceeds. The boiler was lifted out of the frames and is stored on the Llangollen Railway for use in the 'Betton Grange' project. (See Llangollen for the entry for that project)

The frames were lifted off the wheels on 24th November 2005 and have been shotblasted and painted in readiness for use in the 'County' class recreation project at Didcot. The wheelsets, bogie, axleboxes, vacuum cylinders and pipework were sent to Didcot in early December.

The loco 7927 'Willington Hall' has ceased to exist as such. This raises a problem over its classification in the database, especially as the 'County' under construction is also shown as No 1014 'County of Glamorgan' at Didcot.

One of the 'Barry 10' locos that were saved from the scrapyard at Barry but not restored. Belongs to Glamorgan Council, who are releasing it to be used in constructing a 'Grange' class - none of which were preserved.

7927 "Willington Hall" has been left in scrap condition, it does not have a tender, correct one would be a Hawksworth 4000 gal
