The mechanical overhaul of the loco is well advanced in the new overhaul workshop at Bo'ness. There's a lot of the paintwork completed too.

The boiler of BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80105 was steamed for the first time in over a decade for its official steam test. If all goes well No. 80105 should be in steam and back in service at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway again later in the year.

One of a number of preserved class British Railways Standard 4MT tank engines, 80105 looks smart in BR lined black livery. These class 4 tank locos are justifiably popular with preserved lines. Designed for bunker first running, they are powerful enough for most of the needs of preserved operation, without the very high running costs of higher power classification locos.
