The former Kinglassie Colliery Grant and Richie built 0-4-0ST (Works No. 272) No. 21 has gone on a hired visit to the Cambrian Heritage Railway at Oswestry to be their main steam locomotive for the 2023 running season there this year.

No. 21 the only Grant and Richie built 0-4-0ST thats in working order is currently visit the National Railway Museum in York where its working brake van rides in the south yard there till March.

This locomotive is currently under overhaul at Ribble Steam Railway in Preston, UK and it is understood that it will appear with a small tender as well.

It is good to hear news of this engine. I saw and photographed it at Muirs in the 1970s.

However, it is not a Barclay but one of two surviving engines built, largely to a Barclay design, by the much smaller concern of Grant, Ritchie and Co., Kilmarnock (the other survivor is GR536/1914, the 0-4-2ST 'Prestongrange'). Works No. 272 is in the Grant, Ritchie series of numbers, not Barclays'.
