It has been confirmed that Kolhapur has been sold to West Coast Railways chairman David Smith. The locomotive is due to be transported to Carnforth in early June after which it will be overhauled to mainline condition.

The ex LMS, Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 5593 "Kolhapur", has been sold to West Coast Railway Company to be part of their mainline steam fleet. No. 5593 will be leaving her long term home at Tyseley Locomotive Works and relocating to her new home at West Coast Railway Company’s depot at Carnforth in Lancashire, for a full overhaul to mainline standards.

It has been reported that ex LMS, Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 5593 "Kolhapur", has now been sold to a new owner and is currently awaiting a move to its new home.

It has been announced that Vintage Trains and Tyseley Locomotive Works are having changes to their steam locomotive fleet as growth plans have been announced. As part of this the Tyseley-based company are going to develop a core brand of running Great Western locomotives and Pullman restaurant cars to meet demand more on the mainline. As part of the changes they have announced that ex LMS, Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 5593 "Kolhapur", that has been based at Tyseley since being bought for preservation in 1967 is to be put up for sale to facilitate the growth plans.

They have been some rumours that Tyseley Locomotive Works could be selling ex LMS, Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 5593 "Kolhapur", as the there are no plans for the locomotive to be overhauled. But in a report in Trackside Magazine from the head of Vintage Trains, it is down to the trustees of Tyseley to decide as they are having a strategic fleet review and it is down to them on what will happen to No. 5593.

It has been announced that LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 5593 "Kolhapur" is to be overhauled back into steam and return to the mainline again. Where it is hoped that when completed the locomotive will play a big part for the Commonwealth Games in 2022. No. 5593 has been out of service since the 1990’s having worked its last trains at the Great Central Railway and the East Lancashire Railway round that time.
