The ex GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall", will be visiting the Swanage Railway in Dorset for their Spring Steam Gala from the 28th to 30th of March 2025.

The ex GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall", is to make its first ever visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for their Annual Steam Gala from the 26th to 29th of September 2024.

Due to a locomotive shortage at the Epping Ongar Railway, ex GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" visit to the West Somerset Railway for their Spring Steam Gala has sadly had to be cancelled to ensure they have cover for their own services.

4953 Pitchford Hall has been confirmed as the third guest locomotive for the West Somerset Railway Spring Steam Gala on 28th April-1st May. Her third visit to the WSR, she will join other guests 7812 Erlestoke Manor and 2999 Lady of Legend, and it is planned to doublehead the Hall and Saint to represent what the Saint originally looked like before rebuilding.

It has been announced that the General Manager of the Epping Ongar Railway has put ex GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" up for sale. The locomotive having returned to steam after its second overhaul in 2019 after successful trials at the Great Central Railway is now up to go to a new home, to a successful buyer.

The ex GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" will visit Severn Valley Railway for their Autumn Steam Gala from the 16th to 19th of September 2021 as a replacement for No. 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" at the event.

The GWR Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" has been put up for sale by her current owner and will remain at the Epping Ongar Railway for the time being till a buyer comes along.

No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" has been added as the second visiting locomotive at the Great Central Railway for their Winter Steam Gala from the 24th to 26th of January 2020. This will be the first Gala visit of 4953 "Pitchford Hall" since completion of her overhaul last year.

When her running in trials at the Great Central Railway are completed No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" will return home to the Epping Ongar Railway to haul Santa Specials over the Christmas season. But in 2020 the locomotive will be leaving the Epping Ongar Railway as 4953 will be going on long term loan to another preserved railway.

The overhaul of ex Great Western Railway Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 4953 "Pitchford Hall" has now been completed and the locomotive has been moved to the Great Central Railway for running in trials starting from next week. The locomotive has also been painted in BR Lined Black livery for the first time in preservation.

4953 is currently being overhauled for the Epping Ongar Railway which is be completed in 2017.
