The ex NCB Backworth, Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST Works No. 7849 "Moorbarrow", is visiting the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway from the 15th of Febuary till the end of March 2025, as extra motive power to help start their main operating season.

With former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST Works No. 7849 "Moorbarrow" now back in service again the locomotive will remain at the Gwili Railway for at least two years.

The overhaul on former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST Works No. 7849 "Moorbarrow" is now completed and the locomotive will enter service for the remainder of the summer season at the Gwili Railway this weekend.

The former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST Works No. 7849 "Moorbarrow" is in the final stages of overhaul and has started being test run on the Gwili Railway before she enters service later this summer.

No. 47 "Moorbarrow" has been withdrawn from service and is undergoing its 10 year overhaul.

The current location of former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST "Moorbarrow" is the Gwili Railway at Bronwydd Arms, Carmarthenshire in Wales. Where its been on loan to them from its owners the Llangollen Railway as "Moorbarrow" is part of there spot hire fleet that goes on hire to other preserved railways around the UK.

The former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST "Moorbarrow" is currently based at the Gwili Steam Railway in Carmarthen Wales. Where it is on long term loan to them and has recently hauled the very first train along there newly open extension to Abergwili there.
