This is one of the earliest Isle of Man Railway tank engines by Beyer Peacock. The Isle of Man Railway used various variants of this 2-4-0T design exclusively. They also gained one more from the Manx Northern when the two companies amalgamated in 1904.

The amalgamation brought the only 0-6-0T on the island, Manx Northern No4 'Caledonia' into Isle of Man Railway stock. It is also the only non-Beyer Peacock loco that the Isle of Man Railway posessed, being built by Dubs and Co. You can see this loco on the site, too.
