We have no plans to restor 265 to operation but 265 had a part taken off for 261 and a copy was made.

Maybe someday this engine will be like its sister- the 261- and operate, but I don't think the Illinois Railway Museum has any plans.

as i have heard they were some of the more larger Northerns Built. for heavy freight and fast, long passenger specials ually. retired sometime in the mid late 50's due to teh diesel invasion!
