The restoration on ex Southern Railway rebuilt Builleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35009 "Shaw Savill", from Barry Scrapyard condition is now really picking up at Riley & Son Engineering Ltd as over 2,500 original, scanned BR and Southern Railway drawings for Merchant Navy locos, and parts have been brought it to help with the work needed to get the locomotive operational again.

The ex Southern Railway rebuilt Builleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35009 "Shaw Savill", has been relocated to Riley & Son Engineering Ltd’s new larger engineering site at Bury in Lancashire, where its resotation is continuing on there now.

Riley & Son Engineering Ltd. have relocated to a new larger site at irlam works in Bury in Lancashire, where the ongoing restoration of ex Southern Railway rebuilt Builleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35009 "Shaw Savill", is continuing on there now.

The ex Southern Railway rebuilt Builleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35009 "Shaw Savill" is currently located at Riley & Son Engineering Ltd. at Heywood in Lancashire where it is being overhauled and rebuilt to mainline standards with the hope she will be in steam in 2024.

Work on overhauling the ex Southern Railway Builleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35009 "Shaw Savill" is now underway at Riley & Sons Engineering Ltd at Heywood which is being done to mainline standards. It is hoped that the locomotive will be in steam by 2024.

Some wonderful news on former Southern Railway rebuilt Builleid Merchant Navy Pacific 35009 "Shaw Savill" as its owners Riley & Sons Engineering Ltd are overhauling the locomotive as No. 35009 has today been moved to their workshops at Heywood for its long awaited return to steam.

The Builleid Merchant Navy Pacific 35009 "Shaw Savill" is planed to be moved to Ian Rileys works next year for its restoration when the overhaul of LMS Jinty No. 47298 is completed.
