428 should be running at the end of 2011 if everything goes well.

Had a steam test on this past weekend, a huge milestone in the Restoration. Might be done by the end of the year, but expected to be done by the end of next year (2010).

428 Passed the hydro. We are in the process of replacing a leaky injector fitting. She will see a stream test by the end of this year.

428 is getting closer, but is still a mess. We won't see here out of the shop for at least three years. Running gear and wheels still need work, and the cab needs to be put back on still.

I heard today at IRM that the 428 is almost done, but will not be done soon enough to operate this year. the best hope for steam at irm this year is Frisco 1630.

Wood being put on tender. Tender getting painted soon. Water tested and one staybolt leakes. New cab is almost finished and all gauges and fittings are on the loco.
