The loco worked many of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway services until 1999, when an crack was found in the firebox. this has proved to be beyond repair, so a new firebox is being constructed. Meanwhile, the chassis has been dismantled for overhaul.

This locomotive worked at the Primrose colliery at Swillington near Leeds W. Yorks. The colliery was called Primrose Hill.
