The ex GKN, Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST (Works No. 1873) No. 18 "Jessie", will be visiting the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for their Hunslet Gala from the 27th to 29th of June 2025.

The ex GKN, Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie", has been repainted back into her original livery when she was first built in 1937, which is a mix of brunsic green with yellow lining and black.

The ex GKN, Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie", is visiting the West Somerset Railway for the first time to star at their Spring Steam Spectacular, being held from the 3rd and 6th of May 2024. The visit will also be the final appearance "Jessie" in her current livery, with a repaint planned for her return home to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway afterwords.

Having completed running in trials and loaded test runs, the ex GKN, Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie", is set to return to traffic hauling trains again at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway over the Easter weekend and onwords.

The overhaul on ex ex GKN, Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie", has now been completed and the locomotive is operational again and has undergone a light engine test run at the Barry Railway at Barry Island, Glamorgan in South Wales, and will soon return home to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, ready for the 2024 season.

The full name of the employer of this locomotive in the then Cardiff Docks area (upon closure in 1978 was GKN (Guest Keen and Nettlefold), East Moors Steelworks, Cardiff. However, as observed in my 1968 Album photograph taken in nearby Splott Park, the locomotive had aleady been destined for preservation.

Now in the last stages of her overhaul, the ex Eastmoors Steelworks, Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie", has been moved to her owners private shed at Barry Island, Glamorgan in South Wales, for final completion before returning home to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway to return to service for the 2024 season.

Having finshed its festive dutys at the the Kent & East Sussex Railway over the Christmas and New Years season, the ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" has returned back home at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway and has now been withdrawn from service for her 10 year overhaul as work is underway stripping the locomotive down in readiness for her move to the the Flour Mill works at Bream in Gloucestershire where the overhaul will take place at.

The ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" is visiting the Kent & East Sussex Railway over the Christmas season to be extra motive power for their Santa Specials. After this in the New Year "Jessie" will then go to the Flour Mill works at Bream in Gloucestershire for her 10 year overhaul which will hopefully be completed by the spring of 2023.

Still operational, the ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" is to make a visit to the Severn Valley Railway as their third visiting locomotive for their Autumn Steam Gala from the 15th to 18th of September 2022.

The ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 is in the last few months of its boiler ticket and will be withdrawn from service at the end of April for its 10 year overhaul.

After being on hire to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway over the winter ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 has returned home to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway and will be operating trains there for the 2022 running season from the beginning of April 2022.

Having been on hire to the Dean Forest Railway for the early part of the 2021 season, ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 48150 Class 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" has now returned home to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway which after a well earned rest the locomotive will soon be out soon be back out working hard again for the remainder of the 2021 season there.

Hunslet 0-6-0ST Jessie is on tour again as she is helping the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway during the summer months. She is effectively standing in for Taff Vale No. 85, which has returned to the Worth Valley.

The ex Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" will be making its debut in to traffic at its new Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway over the Easter weekend following the refit of its saddle tank and repaint in its Eastmoors Steelworks Black livery with Black and Yellow Wasp ends to the front and back of the locomotive.

Former Eastmoors Steelworks Hunslet built 0-6-0ST No. 18 "Jessie" has been sold by its owner to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway in Monmouthshire, South Wales where it now based. Its days as Thomas The Tank Engine are over as its been converted back to its original saddle tank form before moving to its new home.

Currently coneverted into a 'Thomas' character loco with, of course, side tanks. it will be returned to its original saddle tank form later.
