The loco was donated to Tanfield Railway in September 2010 and is now stored in Marley Hill shed.

I think it would be great if we could put together an LHJC gala using 52, 5, 29, Twizell and 14.

That would be one hell of a photo charter

A typical Hawthorn Leslie saddle tank used by the Lambton, Hetton and Joicey collieries in County Durham, ending up working for the National Coal Board at various collieries in the Seaham area; Vane Tempest, Seaham and Dawdon, before a return to Philadelphia where it was withdrawn in September 1968 and moved to Beamish . Restored to LHJC colours at Beamish Museum. Other LHJC locos to survive are Nos 5 and 29 on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and 52 at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway(see Yorkshire for details)
