The engine has its builders plates, so it is quite certain that the engine is a Baldwin.

I am a volinteer at the illinois railway musiem for the steam shop. I have workedon #16 polishing the brass and such. On most saturday from June-October i open up the cab for tours from 10:30-4:30. The year that #16 was built was actualy Dec. 1915. I have sen the Builders Plate hundreds of times. Once the engine was sent to the ford musiem in 1928 it was Used as Henery Fords personal engine where Walt Disney would drive it with him.

This locomotive was acquired by IRM from the Henry Ford Museum (formerly the Edison Institute) in trade for B&LE 2-8-0 #154.
