The overhaul on former NCB Waterside Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST (Works No. 2244) No. 10 has been completed and the locomotive is being tested before entering service at the Doon Valley Railway (The new name for the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre) this year.

The former NCB Waterside Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST No. 10 has been withdrawn from service and is now undergoing its 10 year overhaul at the Doon Valley Railway which is the new name for the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre.

No 10 is back in steam, using the boiler from No 19 (Andrew Barclay 1614 of 1918). No 19 will be cosmetically restored as a static exhibit.

Barclay No. 2244 of 1947 was supplied new to the National Coal Board Ayr and Dumfries area as No. 1. When East and West Ayr areas were amalgamated in 1964 it was renumbered No. 10. It was latterly based on the Waterside colliery system and based at Dunaskin shed.
