To belatedly answer the note of 2005-10-22 posted by Christopher Creighton this Hunslet built 0-4-0ST is not the same loco which was exported to Canada. This was also called "Elidir" and was also an 0-4-0 tank but built by Avonside in 1933, works no. 2071. The loco has since returned to the UK and a photo of it has been downloaded by Steve Frost. It can be viewed on line at the Leighton Buzzard, Befordshire location although the photo was taken at the Locomotion Museum, part of the National Railway Musem at Shildon in the north of England.

Hello,

I don't know if I am speaking of the same ELIDIR, but I have seen a 60cm gauge quarry locomotive by that name. It is located at Tottenham, Ontario, Canada stored under cover at the farm of an acquaintance. From what I have been told, it was brought to Canada from Wales in the early 1960's along with her sister (the name of which escapes me at the moment). The sister engine was sliced in half and is on display at the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto.
