“Dorothea” is an 0-4-0ST built in 1901 by Hunslet, of Leeds, for the Dorothea Slate Quarry, Wales. She was out of use by 1939. She was abandoned for 30 years in a derelict shed until she was rescued by Dave Walker in 1968. She was moved to Launceston in a dismantled state in the 1980s and bought by Kay Bowman in 1989.Currently, she is nearing completion of restoration in the workshops of the Launceston Steam Railway. 8th July 2007
