The former Redheugh Gasworks Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-4-0ST Works No. 7409 "Sir Cecil A. Cochrane" has returned to traffic again from another overhaul during the Christmas season. Which this overhaul has seen the locomotive fitted with a brand new saddle tank as well as a full repaint too.

The overhaul of "Sir Cecil A. Cochrane" has been surprisingly quick as the loco is back in service with a fresh boiler ticket at the Tanfield Railway.

The Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-4-0ST "Sir Cecil A. Cochrane" has been withdrawn from service earlier this year for its 10 year overhaul.

This 12 inch cylinderd loco runs regularly on the Tanfield Railway especialy in the summer months. However they were having some problems with the tubes last year but I think this problem has been resolved now.

The loco is operational but there have been a lot of problems with it's axleboxes since the wheels had new tyres put on.
