In May 1971 I personally purchased both 'Pallion' (now scrapped) and 'Roker' from the original owners, Doxford & Sunderland Shipyard Ltd., for whom the latter had worked for the previous 30 years; 'Pallion' since 1902. Both were subsequently moved from there to the BSC Britannia Works, Middlesbrough for storage before being resold a few years later to an enthusiast in the south of England. I understand that after travelling south, 'Roker' returned through various sites in the Midlands before ending up in County Durham, not a million miles from where it last worked.

Roker has gone on loan to Beamish Open Air Museum for display only.
