The ex Tongaat Sugar, Natal Bagnall built 4-4-0T Works No. 2819 now named "Sir George Newnes", is now operational again and back in service at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway following completion of its overhaul, and will be in action at their Autumn Gala weekend on the 28th and 29th of September 2024.

The former Tongaat Sugar, Natal Bagnall built 4-4-0T Works No. 2819 "Charles Wytock" has been renamed to "Sir George Newnes" and is in the last stages of its overhaul and it hoped to be in service at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway in 2024.

She has been purchased by a group based on the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway, the plan is that she will stay on the railway.

Over on Facebook (9th of April 2014) it has been announced that the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway in North Devon is to get another Bagnall tank loco. Her name is Charles Wytock and she is a 4-4-0T.

One of the three ex-Tonga Sugar plantation locos under restoration at a private site in Middlesbrough.

They all are to the same design with minor variations, and they all feature a marine type circular firebox. A fourth loco of the same type is in the UK at Statfold Barn Railway. Named 'Isibutu' it can be found with a search for its works number 2820.
