One of three locos built for Croydon Power Station in south London. The cab is low as the locos worked in a restricted area where coal wagons were tippled to unload. All three worked until 1973, two being preserved at Quainton Road and this one kept as a standby loco for the diesel locos that had replaced it on its duties.

Well, the diesels were reliable and 2103 never worked again after 1975. Although an overhaul was begun in 1977, it was never completed and when the power station closed in 1980, the loco was sold, arriving at Middleton Railway in 1981.

Sisters 2104 and 2105. 2104 is at the Northampton and Lamport Railway and 2105 is at Quainton Road.
