Hello Everyone!, I just wanted to correct your ownership linage. This locomotive number #250 (2-6-2) and #300 (2-8-2)were purchased new from the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Bonhomie & Hattiesburg Southern. They were not leased by Tatum lumber company. The Tatum's did infact own the B&HS as well as the Tatum Lumber Company. The Lumber Co. had a number of 2-8-2's of similar design but this 2-6-2 was the only prairie type locomotive to operate on the B&HS or TLC.

This engine was considered by Roaring Camp Big Trees & Pacific for use on their passenger train down the to beach. They bought coaches for their beach train from the wolfebero railway in the 1980's, but they thought the locomotive was in poor mechinical condition and highly priced. Its too bad they didnt.

Owned by B&HS until 1963  sold to Wanamaker Kempton and Southern used there until 1970, it was sold b/c it was too large, and expensive for the line to use. It then went to the Wolfeboro railroad in Wolfeboro New Hampshire.

I think it would be fair to say this engine is on display rather than stored, it is being repainted and a viewing platform is planned.
