The colliery was NCB from 1946, shortly into the locomotive life.

The ex Acton Hall Colliery Hunslet built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2705 "Beatrice" is going on a hired visit to the Spa Valley Railway for a week from the 5th of April 2023 to cover a steam shortage there over the Easter holidays.

The former Acton Hall Colliery Hunslet built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2705 "Beatrice" has recently returned to traffic at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway following completion of a overhaul. This year marks 40 years of "Beatrice" being in preservation in private ownership. "Beatrice" has seen upgrades in preservation such as the fitting of a rocking grate, hopper ashpan and a Lempor exhaust system.

driving wheel diameter is 3 foot 9 inches

cylinders are 16 by 22 and boiler pressure is 160 psi

the loco is now under running in trials and has completed trips to bolton abbey light engine and on the vintage train

A major overhaul is progressing. The valve gear is being overhauled, and a new firebox made. It may steam later in 2006.
