This is one of Manning, Wardle & Co 1156-1157 of 1889, built for the Mexican Mineral Railway Co. Ltd. This line was of 2ft 6in Gauge and ran from the Chinipas River for about 11 miles to the mines at Palmajero that were owned by the Palmajero Mining Co. Ltd. In 1894 the latter company amalgamated with the Mineral Railway. These engines were built as 0-6-0Ts that had a front radial axle. it is possible that this was not flexible enough and the front section of the coupling rods was later removed. Cylinders were 9 x 14 and wheels 2ft 5 1/2 in.
