Was formerly a "timber" road type locomotive, meaning it was designed to use rails made from hewn trees. This is evident from the wide tread on the one visible wheel in the photo.

This locomotive was misidentified. It is actually c/n 196, a 3' gauge Class A 2-truck Shay. Not much of her is left, just a perforated boiler, rotted frame, part of the engine, and part of the trucks. It's located on a timber/hunting preserve south of Sumter, SC.
