The ES&NA has no plans to restore this engine. There is only one person left at the place from when steam operations were still going, and according to him, the engine needs a whole new boiler to run again. They also have no intention at this point of putting it back together either. They actually use the cab as a shed for some of their garden tools.

I have a pic of a train with the number 226 on it. It has 6 mens in the picture. I have been told on of them was my grandfather.. but have no idea which on he is. I thought the pictuce was taken in Texas. think it was taken in the 1890 or maybe early 1900. Updated the database to show the status of this locomotive as "Restoration" rather than "Operational". Thanks to Roger Holmes for the input.

The ES&NA began restoration on this locomotive a number of years ago.  The last time I saw it a couple of years ago it still needed a lot of work (and $$$ - which isn't there) to become operational.  As far as I know, it never did operate at Eureka Springs.
