This locomotive is slowly being worked on a little piece at a time as the place in California that owns her gets the money to fix her. She needs very little work over all. Her boiler is pretty much operable as is, and most of the work is relegated to the running gear.

No.37 is going to California, all right. Visit http://www.timberheritage.org/locomotive37.htm and you'll see what I mean. They also have Falk and Gypsy, two of the strangest 0-4-0s I've ever seen.

37 is going to go to the STrasburg Railroad for restoration in late spring 2006.

It will be getting a gradual restoration, as funds become available.

Great locomotive that was restored to service in 1987. Could pull anything up Hockessin Hill (1.5%) the W&W had and then some. Always operated with ex C&O auxillary tender #215 for water supply as the tanks over the boiler were never used due to weight limitations on bridges. Operated many off line excursions over the Octoraro Railway in the lat 80's and early 90's. Taken out of service in 1991 for "minor repairs" however a dispute as to who should pay for the repairs have left the locomotive idle since.  Last report was it was purchased by a group in California and should be returing soon to its home state.
