There is a possibility that Shay 14 may move to the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad later this year. Where she would work on the steeper grades alongside sister 7 and Heisler 3.

Before #14 left Silver Plume for Golden it was lettered for the Argentine Central RR. #14 will probably be used to power trains during museum operating weekends for the time being.

14 is now at the Colorado Railraod Museum and will be running a Christmas train in December.

Important News!  The Georgetown Loop Railroad is coming to an end for its last season ever.  Locomotives (diesle) #130, #140, #15, (steam) #9, #44, #40, #8, #12, #14, and the rest of the rolling stock are planned to go down to the Royal Gorge Route in Cannon City Colorado.  There they are planning to build a third rail for both narrow gauge and broad guage to operate.  The fate of the railroad dosen't look really good, it might be torn up again and it took almost 50 years to rebuild the Georgetown Loop Railroad.  It is a beautiful railroad and I would hate to see it get torn up.  At least the locomotives and other rolling stock are in good hands.

The "unknown" date is 1937 when Sierra Nevada Wood and Lumber went bankrupt.  Their equipment including future West Side shays 14 and 15 as well as the famed J.W.Bowker of the Virginia and Truckee and Eureka and Palisades #4 wne to Hyman-Michaels in San Francisco.  I hope this helps.
