Natal hauled the first passenger train in South Africa on 26 June 1860 from Durban to the Point on the new Natal Railway line. The loco had arrived in Durban by sea on 13 May 1860. It worked until 1875. The remains of loco were found in Umzimvubu River in 1943. Loco was reconstructed with original frame, wheels, springs and cylinders. Put on display in 1946.
