I can confirm that we have both the “Byron” engines 2967 and 2968. They are owned by Peter Nott, in Arroyo Grande, CA. Right now this locomotive is getting close to Completion back to its as built configuration. We should have it finished sometime next year.

As of early 2018 this and the other Byron locomotive are owned by a privet individual in California.

Built as Davenport C/N 1695 in May 1919, 2-6-2T 9x12 cylinders, US Army #5240. Returned to Davenport sometime after 1921. Frame and running gear sold to Byron Hiatt in 1938. Hiatt added a boiler and cab and ran the locomotive on his Byron RR as #2967. In the 1980s it was sold to George Long of Monroe, Washington. Sometime after 2000 it was sold to Paul Schurman of Ridgefield, Washington.
