493 is in Durango and being restored for the 2019 season. She is being converted to run on oil to combat drought conditions.

493 is currently being restored for use on the D&S! She is currently in a stripped down state.

According to John Norwood's books on the Rio Grande Slim gauge, 493 was numbered 1005 while in service as a C-41 on the standard gauge.  I know nothing of the other K-37 bases.

Self correction time.  493 is now in Silverton not 498 as I stated before.  Power for the trip was a K-28, probably 473.  She now sits along with the Casey Jones Railbus at the Freighthouse Museum.
