the locomotives in the photos are correct! there locomotives 487 the rear loco, and # 463 is the helper loco in front!

#463 is still stored in Antonito. However, the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec have just received a $300K donation from a private group which they will use to restore the locomotive. The current plans are to start restoration on the engine as soon as #489 is done.

This Locomotive was sold to Gene Autrey and taken to California for his movie set "Melody Ranch" but after the set burnt down was donated back to the town of Antonito Colorado where it sat in pieces for many years until funding of a restoration by corporate sponsors got it back up running.

Ummm... person who said that it's the wrong locomotive, HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE ENLARGED VERSION? This is indeed 463, not 4631.

K-27 #463 stored for 2003 and for a few years to come.  Needs extensive overhaul.  Will possibly reside in the Antonito engine house for a while.

The basic page shows no photo but the photo album does have an image with photo credit to me. It is a nice photo but I did not make it. I think it is a Jim Boyd image but am not sure. Also this engine as others go back and forth between Antonitio, CO and Chama, NM. Not sure where we should show them for location.
