We do not list tenders which exist separately from whatever locomotive they may have once been attached to.

Because of an apparent lack of interest in purchasing the loco for restoration in the UK, it has been sold on to the new museum at Be'er Sheva, Israel. Potential purchasers in the UK seemed to be more interested in dismantling it for parts, possibly to restore the remains of 8F No 48518 which had been dismantled at Llangollen, and was the only remaining Doncaster built 8F. Its remains are currently at Ian Riley Engineering in Bury.

Some locos of this type did work in Israel and it is likely to be cosmetically restored as Israel Railways 70414 or possibly War Department WD414. Who knows, it may one day run again.

This is one of the LMS design 8F locos supplied to Turkey during the Second World War. The UK was unable to fulfill a prewar order for some locomotives and diverted a batch of locos intended for use by the British Army.

It has many features added whilst in Turkey. The air reservoir on the running plate, the electric generator near the chimney and the cowcatcher. However, it still shows its LMS origins.

The loco has arrived in the UK and will be stored in the old steam shed at Barry for the time being.

45166 has been bought by a group of British enthusiasts and moved by rail to Alsanak where it was loaded onto a ship bound for the UK on November 23rd or 24th 2010. Sister loco 45170 is also involved in the purchase and was also loaded onto the same ship. They are expected to arrive at Portbury in mid December.
