The last steam loco built at Hunslets Jack Lane works in Leeds. Supplied by Robert Hudson for the Trangkil sugar mill estate in Java, Indonesian. Built to a gauge of 750mm. In service for 30 years until made redundant. Returned to the UK in 2004 joining the Stafold Barn collection, being regauged in their workshops to work on their 2 foot track.

This little loco has the honour of being the last commercially produced steam loco from a UK builder, in 1971, built for the Indonesian Forestry Service to a design that dated back several decades. Note the Hackworth valve gear. The photo shows the little engine at the National Railway Museum at York, giving rides at the '1968 and all that' event in May 2008. For those non UK enthusiasts not familiar with the significance of 1968 to UK steam, it was the year that the final main line steam operations by British Railways finished.
