Classified by the German Heeresfeldbahn, originally delivered to its Reserve Park, Berlin and numbered as HF 1741. It was sold to Mozambique in the 1920s with around 20 other brigade locomotives and was there as locomotive 1 until the outbreak of civil war in 1974 on the routes of the Marromeu sugar factory in action. The locomotive fleet of the sugar factory remained on the sugar factory site until 1998, when an English railway enthusiast acquired the brigade locomotives for the purpose of resale and had them transferred to England. It was not until 2005 that the last locomotives could be sold to museum railways in England, Germany and South Africa. Henschel 15540/1917 was purchased by a member of the Penrhyn Railway Trust and shipped to North Wales. In the meantime, work has begun on dismantling the locomotive to make it operational.
