This photo shows the Severn Lamb steam-outline diesel 4-4-0 at Entertainement City, Kuwait. Nothing to do with Iraq.

The picture shown is inaccurate; Entertainment City has a Severn-Lamb steam-outline engine, the one in the picture, that replaced Original Crown 4-4-0 when it was moved to Iraq.

Built in 1984 to 3 ft gauge. The locomotive is not a diesel outline. Exactly what has happened to it no one seems to know but the park it was operating at was largely destroyed during the conflict. It was probably abandoned, sold or scrapped. In any case it is not operating at the park.

i do not think this is a steam locomotive from the photos i have seen it looks like some sort of a diesel

With the war in Iraq going on, what is its status now? Is it being kept stored or protected from vandalism, etc?

This engine originally ran at Entertainment City in Kuwait. It was taken by Iraqi troops as a gift for Sadam Hussein during the invasion of Kuwait. It is still in Iraq and operating at the al Zawra Park Zoo.
