The locomotive was actually delivered to the original DRB (as successor to the DRG) and after a spell with the SBZ Military Administration in 1945, joined the fledgling DR. It was one of ten locomotives, initially hired in 1959, then purchased in 1961 by the BDŽ from DR. A total of 275 members of this class eventually ended up in Bulgaria; 85 as Soviet war booty; 20 each purchased from both DR and CSD in 1956; and the final 140, previously sequestrated (along with the CSD batch) from Germany in 1945, from the SŽD 1961-1964. BDŽ re-numbered it 15.131. It was observed personally at Asenovo reserve in 2004.
