The 2341 Stay in the Canadian Railway Museum Delson QC

The "Alco-Montreal Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 66764 through 66787, Road Numbers 2326 through 2349 were shipped to the "Canadian Pacific Railway Co." during the August-October time period of 1926. All of these units were 4-6-2's with a "Specified" total weight of 306,000 pounds. (This is not necessarily the "Actual" total weight) The "Actual" total weight should be close to the "Specified" total weight, however the figure (Empty Weight) listed on the site seems to be exessively higher.

CPR 2341 is still at the Canadian Railway Museum in Delson, Qc.. The lease that the CMRT had on 2341 expired in 1999 or so and has NOT (according to reliable sources) been renewed. The CRM has not been contacted by the CMRT for any type of "agreement" concerning the transfer of 2341 to Cranbrook.

Roman, the author of the Preserved Steam in British Columbia web site, reports that he visited the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel in August 2002 and heard that the locomotive had not yet arrived on the property. They expect it to be there when the museum has finished moving to its new location.
