I have studied the photos of both this engine and 3003, both engines are not in that poor of shape, it looks to be mainly the sheet metal and the cab floor that would have to be replaced, and the tank on 3003, however both appear to be in very salvageable condition.

Opposite Water Works Road - they are actually visible on street view!, to the right of the gate with the traditional welcoming No Tresspassing notice.

After conversing with my Dad who grew up in the area, I mentioned the current listed owner F.L. "Tinker" Sulzberger (misspelled, Sulsberger is the correct spelling). The name was instantly recognized to him as Francis L. "Tink" Sulsberger, longtime Monroe County Ohio Sheriff (Woodsfield is in Monroe County). Tink died in 2008 and actually was Sheriff at the time of the shown purchase of the engines in 1965. It is quite possible that he owned the property on which they now reside. As far as I know, the narrow guage never crossed the Ohio River. My guess is these were purchased with the thought of putting them on display in Woodsfield, the "home" of the B.Z.& C./O.R.& W. Narrow Gauge

These 2 locos have always been a question mark to me as to why they are where they are. Given the guage they had to be operated on the Bellaire & Southwestern/Bellaire,Zanesville & Cin./Ohio River & Western. The curious part is they are a couple miles from any trackage from that railroad. The railroad ceased operation in 1931 meaning these were only a couple years old at that time.

3002 is the locomotive in the background of the photo.
