This locomotive is not at the Whippany Railway Museum. It is not listed on their homepage with their equipment, nor is it present on their grounds. It is possible that the engine was confused with the fireless engine they do own.

14 was once owned by the Black River & Western and was acquired from Rail Tours Inc. as a backup for 60. The loco was eventually found to be too small for their needs and was mostly a display until sold to the Delaware & Ulster in the late 1980s.

BEDT #14 is currently (August 2005) undergoing detailed cosmetic restoration, back to BEDT #14 livery, by Ulster & Delaware Railroad Historical Society members. For pictures and details of that restoration, please visit http://members.aol.com/bedt14/BEDT14.html.

Also, it is anticipated that #14 will be sent out for restoration to operational status by 2008. (We hope!) For more info on all BEDT locomotives, please visit my BEDT website at: http://members.aol.com/bedt14/BEDT.html
