Any talk of restoration these days on 71 are highly unlikely. Other than funding, it is not easy for the Dollywood crew to keep both 70 and 192 up at the same time, usually one being in the shops for an extended amount of time, leaving the other to do all the work for up to a year or more at times.

There is a fourth former White Pass and Yukon mikado at Dollywood, but it is only the frame and running gear of number 72

I was told by the Dollywood crew that the plan for this loco is to pull a 2nd train in about 4 years.

Word around the campfire is that Dollywood has aquired a White Pass 190-class tender from Skagway for use behind the #71.
